We have some new large format beers in stock — in fact, we now have so many we had to make a new section on our menu for them. Here are the new additions:
- Brooklyn Sorachi Ace from Brooklyn Brewery. “A classic saison,” says the folks at Brooklyn Brewery, “a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but made entirely with now-rare Sorachi Ace hops grown by a single farm in Washington. We ferment it with our special Belgian ale strain, and then add more Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After the dry-hopping, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemongrass / lemon zest aroma backed by a wonderfully clean malt flavor.” Our taste testers at the Whistler agree — that lemon zest really shines through on this one.
- Saison de Lis from Perennial Artisan Ales. A Belgian-Style saison brewed with chamomile flower. It’s got a wonderful aroma and subtle sweetness, it’s light and refreshing, and an all-around great summer brew.
- Luciernaga Firefly from Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales. A pale ale brewed in the Grand Cru tradition. It has a gentle hop aroma with coriander and grains of paradise rounding out the spicy palate. One of the best new beers we’ve tried lately.
- Double Fisted Double Pale Ale from our neighbors down the street at Revolution Brewing. Says RevBrew: “Originally brewed as the 100th beer at our brewpub, this strong pale ale packs a serious punch with massive hop flavor. Intense dry-hopping brings a deep, resinous, citrus blast reminiscent of cutting into a fresh bag of hop pellets.” We’ll be adding some new beers from RevBrew in the coming months.
We plan on rotating these large format beers quite often, so there will always be something new for you and your friends to try — or just keep the big bottle to yourself!
